Commodity Merchandising Assistant - Amarillo, TX
About the Role:
Join our fast-paced Commercial Operations team as a Commodity Merchandising Assistant! This full-time role is essential in supporting commodity trading and logistics — coordinating contracts, shipments, and communication across vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
What You’ll Do:
Support commodity buyers with daily tasks: Chicago futures market pricing (CME), order entry, and contract management
Track commodity market trends and prepare summary reports to support trading decisions
Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments (grain/cattle) with vendors and logistics providers
Generate and manage purchase and sales contracts; monitor delivery schedules
Prepare invoices and help reconcile billing with accounting
Serve as a main point of contact for suppliers and customers — confirm orders, provide updates, and resolve issues
Maintain accurate records in trading systems, ensuring compliance with internal policies
Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation
Provide general administrative support to the Commercial Operations team
What You Bring:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Agricultural Business, Economics, Merchandising, or related field — or equivalent experience
Experience: 1–2 years in admin, logistics, or customer service preferred; agriculture or trading experience is a bonus
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Clear communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Self-starter who works well both independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and a sense of urgency in daily work
